The Cyclades complex of islands is a group comprised of 56 islands, with the most important being Amorgos, Anafi, Andros, Antiparos, Delos, Ios, Kea, Kimolos, Kythnos, Milos, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Santorini, Serifos, Sikinos, Sifnos, Syros, Tinos, Folegandros, as well as the “Minor Cyclades” comprising Donousa, Irakleia, Koufonisia ,Schinousa Kinaros and Levitha.
The Ionian complex of islands is located in western Greece. Historically and culturally these islands are strongly connected to Italy and especially the Venetian era. Comprised of Corfu, Zakynthos, Paxi & Antipaxi, Lefkada, Ithaka, Kefalonia & Kythira, the Ionian islands are famous for their architecture, gastronomy and the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean, lots of them accessible only by sea.
The Sporades islands off Greece’s Eastern Coast in the Northern Aegean boast the islands of Skiathos, Skopelos, Skyros, and Alonnisos. Aside from their fabulous beaches and wooded terrain they offer visitors adventure as they are all surrounded by many uninhabited islands ready to explore and discover.
